Engineering Technology Building No. 2, National Taiwan Ocean University, Keelung
Situated on the Seaside Campus north of the Seaside High-way and next to Engineering Building No. 1, this struc-ture which contains both research laboratories and class-rooms is divided into two buildings in response to both the dimensions of the site and the functional requirements of various departments. Building A has six floors above ground and one below, with a total floor area of 8,245 sq.m.
It is subdivided, with its right portion containing an es-pansion of the Department of Electrical Engineering, con-nected to this department on the second floor of Engineer-ing Building No. 1 by a bridge, and its left portion con-taining the newly-established Department of Ship Me-chanics. Building B, with five floors above ground and one below, has a total floor area of 8,985 sq.m., and con-tains the expansion of the Departments of River Engineer-ing and Naval Architecture. The former is directly adja-cent to the large-size testing though for river and oceanengineering studies, and the latter is provided with a spe-ical, 44-meter-long model ship laboratory and a 9m x 10m x 9m underwater anechonic chamber. Ther total con-struction cost is NT$703,500,000. Completion date 1997.
