Synnex China High-Tech Integrated Logistics Centers
Synnex completed the first High-Tech Integrated Logistics Center in Shanghai in 2003. They continuously set up other Logistics Centers in Beijing, Nanjing and Chengdu in 2005 and extent to other cities yearly afterwards.
Each Logistics Center is in charge of Sales Repairing and Production Warehouse, so the buildings are mainly divided into 3 categories by its functions: 1. Administration & Operation, 2. Warehouse and 3. Phase II: Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS).
In design, the biggest challenges are as follows: to arrange the administrative department in an optimal position in order to fully oversee the entire warehouse working process and extend to each level of the building. For floor plans, the design aims to maximize the efficiency of circulation, manpower and the distance between each destination via carefully arranging the columns. Moreover, the windows are set at the level from the floor not only to achieve the needs of natural lights & but also to serve as smoke vent thus reduce of the exhaust fans which would limit the height of the storage shelves.
